Iran declares it's capture of a Romanian company's oil rig as being "not an act of Hostility".

"On Wednesday, the Romanian government reacted angrily to reports that the Iranian military had fired on the rig's crew before police seized it."
"Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad later discussed the incident by phone with Romanian President Traian Basescu. Mr Ahmadinejad told him it was "not an act of hostility".

Mr Ahmadinejad told Mr Basescu that the seizure was a trade dispute "involving procedures in line with Iranian legislation," the Romanian presidential office said."

"In line with Iranian legislation", well that means that Iranian's whole dang government is engaged with stealing oil-rigs using warships and armed forces.
"Romania's oil firm GSP earlier said Iranian troops had seized the Orizont rig after firing from a nearby ship."
It also said that 26 of its workers there were being held.
GSP said the allegations(non-hostile acts) were "fabricated", adding that Tehran's actions amounted to piracy.

Why does Hamas need to have a roadblock in the southern
part of the Gaza Strip for? Manned by assault rifle wielding troops instead of policemen? Southern Gaza is alot closer to Egypt, who has good relations with Gaza's inhabitants, than Israel.
Looks to me like just another example of a group of "Thugs" armed well enough to Dominate the local citizens.
Accidents do happen when a Nation is forced to use it's armed forces around civilians. This is not the case here. A roadblock in Southern Gaza is not protecting anyone from Israeli's from the North. These are troops being used to impose a paid organization's agenda, irrespective of the local peoples views. They are in effect holding the area's people hostage. Hamas causing alot of pain, suffering, and death to alot of innocent people.

This is the worst case of propaganda that I have ever seen paraded as a news report.
I have heard of BBC being that way but, I looked at at this and was still shocked.
The terrorists that fire explosive rockets at innocent women and children( actually aim them at elementary schools) are complaining about land they themselves had turned into a battlefield ( gangs(thugs) stalking around with AK-47s, shooting, murdering, kidnapping, and robbing).

Turkey helps foil transfer of arms from Iran to Lebanon

Turkish authorities have managed to prevent several Iranian and Syrian aircraft from flying into Lebanon to transfer weapons to Hezbollah, the Jerusalem Post reported on Monday.
According to the report, Israeli and the U.S. intelligence agencies warned Turkish authorities last Friday that several Lebanon-bound Iranian planes, loaded with arms meant for the Hezbollah, were making their way over Turkish airspace.
Shortly after Turkey was tipped off, Iranian officials ordered the planes to return to their point of departure.

According to the official KCNA news agency, Pyongyang described the drills as "an undisguised military threat" and a "war action".
US and South Korean troops began the military exercises on Monday.
The drills are an annual event, and the North usually issues a strongly-worded statement against them.
But this year, tensions are higher than normal because of international anger at the North's recent decision to test-fire a series of missiles.

Beijing first began exporting Chinese-made missiles to Tehran in 1985, during the Iran-Iraq war, when it supplied weapons to both sides. At the time, Chinese missile exports were purely driven by commercial considerations. The most important aspect of the alliance, however, is Tehran's access to the technology being developed by the Chinese People's Army, particularly in the area of cruise and ballistic missiles. This has long been an issue of great concern for the Americans.

Chinese draught affects millions.

At least 18 million people have been affected by China's worst drought in 50 years, according to the state news agency Xinhua.

By 15 August this year, natural disasters had killed 2,006 people, affected more than 316m others and caused economic losses of 160bn yuan ($20bn), the ministry estimated, according to Xinhua.In Chongqing there has been no rain for more than 70 days, and two-thirds of the rivers have dried up, Xinhua said.

The problem has also affected huge areas of farmland, with crop failures and the death of cattle.

TEHRAN, Iran (CNN) -- Days before a U.N. deadline to accept limits on its nuclear program or face possible sanctions, Iran's armed forces tested surface-to-surface missiles Sunday in the second stage of war games near its border with Iraq.

The war games occurred as Iran again rejected any preconditions for further talks on giving up its uranium-enrichment program.Brig. Gen. Kiumars Heidari, a military spokesman, told the IRNA that Iranian forces test-fired Iranian-made Saeqeh (Thunderbolt) missiles and surface-to-water missiles in southwestern Khuzestan Province, which adjoins Iraq.

State-run TV showed video of 10 missiles being launched from mobile launching pads, The Associated Press reported.Iran's state-run television said the missile was built based on domestic know-how, although outside experts say much of the country's missile technology originated from other countries.

Real Rain for Israel Instead of Rockets

"An unusual brief summer rain storm dropped hail and rain on some areas of the Upper Galilee and Golan Heights Sunday for up to an hour as a heat wave strengthened its hold over the country. Reservists in tents near the Lebanese border reported their tents and mattresses were soaked. Temperatures began to rise and the heat wave will peak on Wednesday, but no relief is expected before Friday night or Saturday."

The Israeli soldiers are the ones outside in the heat while Hezbella is bunkered down inside of their buildings and fortifations. I bet alot of the badguy's rockets where caught out in this.

A sudden soaking could wreak havoc on their solid propellent and wiring.....

Iran Again Insists on Uranium Enrichmint

August 20, 2006 -- Iran today reiterated that it will not suspend uranium enrichment, ruling out the main demand in a nuclear proposal backed by six world powers.

Iran said it would formally respond by August 22 to an offer made by the United States, Russia, China, France, Britain, and Germany. The six have offered incentives for Iran to suspend enrichment, a process that can have both military and civilian uses.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Assefi said in Tehran outstanding issues should be decided by negotiations. He added, however, that "uranium enrichment is not on our agenda."

The UN Security Council already passed a resolution demanding Iran suspend enrichment by August 31, or face possible sanctions.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry also said today UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan will visit Tehran in the coming weeks, presumably to discuss the nuclear issue.

US President George W Bush warned North Korea today against nuclear testing.
But Bush would not say if he had information confirming that preparations for such a test were under way.
The US television network ABC reported yesterday that North Korea may be preparing to conduct an underground test of a nuclear bomb.
"It is the view of the intelligence community that a test is real possibility," the network quoted a senior US State Department official as saying.
A senior military official told America's ABC that an unidentified US intelligence agency had recently observed "suspicious vehicle movement" at a suspected North Korean test site.
North Korea claims to have built nuclear weapons and sparked international alarm last month by test-firing seven ballistic missiles.

I cannot help it. I am worried that Hezbella may have used connections with the Italian government to sneak the two IDF soldiers out of the country. The first country that entered or left Lebanon( Monday, 16th) was the Italians.

The other day I was researching and refreshing my memory about Leon Klinghoffer. I read about the mistrust and eventual actions that we have witnessed from the Italian government concerning various "terrorist" factions. They did let Abu Abbas simply go free, he was supposed to be tried in Italy for murder.
Why did the Italian government let him go free? Big money? It is known that Abbas had a Iraqi passport at the time.

Whatever happened to Abu Abbas?
It looks like his real name was "Muhammad Zaidan".
Prior to the 1985 hijacking of the cruise liner, Zaidan was elected to the Executive Committee of the PLO in 1984. He represented the Palestinian National Council(PNC, the Palestinian parliment in exile) in 1989 during peace negotiations with Israel.Although Zaidan( Abbas) was wanted by Israel for his involvement in attacks against Israel, ( across the Lebanese border), during the 1980s and 1990s, Israel allowed him to travel freely in the Gaza Strip throughout the 90s because he supported the peace negotiations.
After the hijacking of the Achille Lauro, Mr. Abbas found his way to Tunisia. After intense political pressure from the US and Italy, he was expelled from Tunisia. He then fled to Baghdad, where Saddam Hussein sheltered him from extradition to Italy.
Italy( whose government let Abu Abbas leave the country without being arrested) sentenced Zaidan in absentia to five life terms for his role in the Achille Lauro hijacking. He was also wanted in the US for terrorism, piracy, and murder. He remained in Iraq and commanded the PLF ( reunited in 1989) until the first Gulf War in 2003.
On April 15, 2003, Zaidan was captured by US forces in Iraq while attempting to flee from Baghdad to Syria. Italy then asked for his extradition. Unfortunatly for Italy, the US reported that on March 9, 2004 that Zaidan died of "natural causes".
The US agreed to give Abba's body to the Palestinian Red Crescent for burial in Ramallah on the West Bank. Israel however denied this request and he was buried in the "Martyrs' Cemetery" in Damascus instead.

I remember another Mr.Abbas that has American blood on his hands.

Klinghoffer was in a wheelchair, because he had been paralyzed by a stroke, and he was traveling with his wife. She was rudely thrust aside, and they vanished on deck with him. They then shot him dead and made two crewmen throw the body and the wheelchair overboard.The hijackers then ordered the ship to sail for Cyprus, but soon learned that the Cryiot government would not let them dock there. So they ordered the ship to sail for Port Said, which was the original destination. After the hijacking, Yasser Arafat, head of the Palestine Liberation Front, sent two emissaries who declared they wanted to negotiate a peaceful settlement of the issue. One of the representatives was Abbu Abbas, who was really a leader of the Palestine Liberation Front, whose members had hijacked the Achille Lauro.
